Edible Perennials for Community Preparedness is a zine about edible perennial plants. This is the third zine in the Live Like the World is Dying Skill Series zines. This zine was compiled from an interview with Aaron, the host of the Propaganda By the Seed podcast.
This zine is available here in print form in a quantity of 2. It’s also available for free as an interactive or printable PDF here.
What is a perennial? Perennials are plants that have a life cycle of at least three years—as op-posed to annuals (plants that have to be grown from seed anew each year because they have a single-year lifecycle) and biennials (plants that spend a year growing and then another year producing seed and dying—so they have a two-year life cycle). Some perennial plants are herbaceous (meaning they have tender stalks that may die back in the cold season, then grow again from the root) and others are woody (meaning they have woody stalks that tend to continue growing above soil year after year). This zine mainly discusses edible herbaceous perennials, but mentions a few woody plants as well.
How to Do It Anyway: a Guide to Self-managing an Abortion at Home is a love letter to all who are living in the wake of the US Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade in June 2022. This guide is meant to lead readers through the process of making a decision, getting ready, what to expect after taking the pills, taking care of your emotions, safety planning, and how to move forward after an abortion. It contains evidence-based recommendations and anecdotally-informed best practices for self-managing a medication abortion through the end of the 12th week of pregnancy. These pages will share some wisdom, care, and hot tips from the diligent volunteers and abortion workers who compiled it.
The second in the Live Like the World is Dying Skills Series, these are sold for what they cost to produce. This zine is available to read for free as a PDF or to print yourself.
